4. State House Protest for Clean Elections, Wed., 11/14
-------------------------------------------------------------

From Mass. Voters for Clean Elections

To the supporters of Clean Elections,

All indicators point to the budget being released a week from
today, Friday November 9th. While we continue to make our
case, we need to be prepared for the good possibility that
the Legislature will fail to provide full funding for Clean
Elections in the conference committee's final version of the
2002 fiscal plan.

We are asking you to plan to join us at the State House on
the early afternoon of Wednesday, November 14th, as we
express our anger at what could be the latest insult to the
voters at the hands of the legislature. Future e-mails will
offer more specifics about the actual time and place of the
protest, as well as the nature of the event.

The conference committee's budget is not the final word,
however. We may be in a position to ask the Governor for a
veto, and then have to defend that from being overridden by
a 2/3 vote in the legislature. An intense round of phone
calls will need to happen in the week between the budget's
release and a possible governor's veto. We ask as many of you
as possible to consider volunteering a few hours, either in
our office or from home. We will supply a list of people to
call and a script.

Lastly, a member of the MVCE Steering Committee, Galen Nelson,
has asked us to forward this link to you. Please check out:

Thanks in advance for your support.

9. Web site updated!
-------------------------------------------------------------

We continue to add new features to the web site to make it
better for supporters to use. Recently, we redesigned our
Take Action section (now called Get Involved) to add
information on holding a house party for the campaign.

We have also added more events and articles to the site. We
hope you find these changes helpful.

James O'Keefe and Jill Stein, Green Party candidate for
Governor, were on WMBR's Radio with a View on 10/16. WMBR
will provide us with an audio tape of this broadcast. If you
know how to turn an audio tape into an MP3 file and would
