1. Clean Elections Court Hearing - Wed., 10/24/2001
-------------------------------------------------------------

On October 24th from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., the Supreme Judicial
Court for Suffolk County will hear arguments from both sides
in the lawsuit filed by James O'Keefe, Mass Voters for Clean
Elections and 30 other individuals and groups on October 4th.
For more info on the lawsuit, please visit
http://www.massvoters.org/Lawsuit.html.

The hearing will be at the Suffolk County Courthouse, 13th
Floor, Pemberton Square, Boston. The court house is across
from City Hall Plaza. The Government Center stop, on the
MBTA's Green and Blue Lines, is the closest stop to the
courthouse. Garage parking it available in the area, but it
is expensive.

If you are interested in attending, an overflow room has
already been arranged by Mass. Voters for Clean Elections.
Mass. Voters for Clean Elections has requested that
supporters dress appropriately. This is a hearing in a court
of law, and not a demonstration. No signs are allowed in the
courtroom, but please wear Green Party and/or Clean
Elections buttons.

Please join us in supporting the Clean Elections Law. Contact
the office at 617-628-2922 or info at jamesokeefe.org if you
plan to attend this event.

-------------------------------------------------------------
2. Tell Tom & Tom to fully fund the Clean Elections law!
-------------------------------------------------------------

This message is also at http://www.jamesokeefe.org/TakeAction

We are urging our supporters to make two simple calls to
support fully funding the Clean Elections Law. Fully funding
the Clean Elections Law will help get big money out of
politics and ensure that our campaign's voice is heard.

Please call Speaker Finneran and Senate President
Birmingham at:

Finneran's #: 617-722-2500
Birmingham's #: 617-722-1500

The message is simple:

"I want the budget conference committee to fully fund Clean
Elections NOW."

Please call and spread the word to your friends and family.
Thanks!

3. Buttons & bumper stickers available
-------------------------------------------------------------

Bumper stickers and buttons are available. Please contact us
if you would like to receive them.

-------------------------------------------------------------
4. Campaign volunteers needed
-------------------------------------------------------------

Jamie O'Keefe's campaign for State Treasurer is picking up
steam, and we need volunteers to mount a real challenge to
Massachusetts' irresponsible and destructive investment
policies. Whatever your talents and abilities, you can help.
We need people for standouts and public outreach, fundraising,
house parties, telephone banking, envelope stuffing, updating
the web site and many other activities and tasks.

Please contact the campaign at 617-628-2922 or
info at jamesokeefe.org to help out!

-------------------------------------------------------------
5. Town, city & campus coordinators needed
-------------------------------------------------------------

The campaign is looking for campaign coordinators in every
city and town and at every campus in Massachusetts. Please
contact us at 617-628-2922 or info at jamesokeefe.org if you can
coordinate the campaign in your area.

-------------------------------------------------------------
6. James O'Keefe is available to speak at your event
-------------------------------------------------------------

James O'Keefe is available to speak at your Green Local
meeting or in your neighborhood about the issues on which he
is running, the campaign and building the Green Party.
Please contact the office with the date, time and location of
the meeting so we can schedule him to attend your event.

-------------------------------------------------------------
7. Send us press clippings about the campaign
-------------------------------------------------------------

If your local paper runs a story about the campaign, please
cut it out and send us a copy. If is available on the
internet, please email us a url or send us the text.

-------------------------------------------------------------
8. Web site updated!
-------------------------------------------------------------

We continue to add new features to the web site to make it
better for supporters to use. Recently, we added summaries
of the Take Action, Events and News sections to the home
page. We hope you find these changes helpful.

James O'Keefe and Jill Stein, Green Party candidate for
Governor, were on WMBR's Radio with a View on 10/16. WMBR
will provide us with an audio tape of this broadcast. If you
know how to turn an audio tape into an MP3 file and would
like to help both campaigns with this task, please email us
at info at jamesokeefe.org.
