1.	EXCITING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES!

As we prepare for November 5, there are several ways that you can get involved 
in the campaigns.  We have already kicked-off our voter identification effort 
in Somerville.  Join us this upcoming Monday, 8/12 at 6 p.m. to knock on some 
doors and ask people in Ward 6 in Somerville what the know/think about our 
candidates.  We’ll have some pizza and then go out for about 2 hours.  Voter 
identification is essential to any winning campaign, and we need your help!  

If knocking on doors doesn’t float your boat, call the office, 617-628-2922, 
and learn how you can help with this important effort by looking up phone 
numbers, creating walking lists for the door-knockers, helping us with 
mailings, and other office jobs.  

If you’re good with good with websites, we need you!  We’re looking for a 
volunteer who can take charge of the website.  Call Vanessa at 617-628-2922 if 
you’re interested in this position.

2.	WEDNESDAY 8/14—JAMES O’KEEFE TO ADDRESS SPRINGFIELD DEMOCRATIC CITY 
COMMITTEE

If you live in or around the Springfield area, please show your support for the 
campaign by holding up signs or passing out literature at the meeting of the 
Springfield Democratic City Committee, where James has been asked to speak.  It 
is Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Raymond Sullivan Safety Complex.

3.	 SATURDAY, 8/10, JOIN JAMES O’KEEFE AND JILL STEIN IN AMHERST AT THE 
NORTHEAST ORGANIC FARMERS ASSN. (NOFA) FAIR

James O’Keefe will be on hand at the NOFA fair on Saturday, August 10, from 3-6 
p.m.  Check out the Hadley Greens and the Connecticut River Valley Greens table 
and meet Jamie and Jill Stein.

4.	JAMIE TO BE JILL STEIN’S GUEST ON WTAG IN WORCESTER, AND MEET WORCESTER 
ACTIVISTS

On Monday, August 12, Green Party candidate for Governor, Jill Stein is hosting 
WTAG (580 am) radio from 5-7 pm in Worcester.  She has asked that James O’Keefe 
be one of her guests that evening.  Tune in to WTAG to hear Jill, James, and 
others.  Following the radio show, James and Jill will meet with local 
activists and people interested in participating in the Green Party campaigns 
from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Worcester Senior Center, located at 128 Providence 
Street.

5.  LEMONADE TOUR FOR DEMOCRACY STILL A SUCCESS!

On Thursday August 1, James O’Keefe and Tony Lorenzen, Green Party candidate 
for Lieutenant Governor joined Paul Lachelier, Green Party State Rep. Candidate 
for the 26th Middlesex District in Cambridge for a lemonade stand, where the 
candidates and volunteers gave away free lemonade and campaign materials to 
interested voters under the slogan, “When the Legislature gives you lemons, 
make lemonade!”  On August 8, James O’Keefe appeared at a similar lemonade 
stand in Springfield.  On both occasions thirsty voters received all of the 
candidates warmly!  

Lemonade stands are a great way for the Green Party campaigns to get attention, 
both from voters on the street and from the media.  If you’re interested in 
having one or more of the candidates come to your community to appear at one,

6.  WESTERN MASS ORGANIZING MEETING A SUCCESS!

On Sunday, July 28, John Pepi, Green Party organizer hosted a successful cook-
out/meet the candidates/organizing meeting.  People from all four western Mass 
counties were represented and kicked off the fall round of campaigning.  If 
you’re interested in becoming more active in the statewide campaigns and live
