HELP THE GREEN CAMPAIGNS IN YOUR OWN COMMUNITY

The James O’Keefe for State Treasurer campaign, with the Jill Stein for 
Governor and Tony Lorenzen for Lt. Governor campaigns, is looking for people to 
help out in their own communities. We need community coordinators, phone 
bankers, door-to-door canvassers, and tablers. If you are interested in taking 
on any of these roles, or if you’d like to learn more about what is needed, 
please let us know as soon as possible. We just need a little bit of your time 
and enthusiasm, and we can win this state!

JOIN THE STATEWIDE GREEN CANDIDATES IN HYANNIS THIS SATURDAY

Jill Stein, Tony Lorenzen, and James O’Keefe will be at the Hyannis town common 
this Saturday, July 6, at 1 p.m. passing out free lemonade, talking with voters 
about their campaigns, and spreading the word about Clean Elections and the 
Green Party. The motto of the day: When the legislature gives you lemons, make 
lemonade! There will be live music and lots of good times. We hope to see you 
there!

TABLE AT THE BOSTON HARBORFEST THIS SUNDAY

Join volunteers for all three statewide campaigns this Sunday, July 7, for an 
afternoon of tabling at the Boston Harborfest at Government Center in Boston. 
Volunteers should meet at 240B Elm St. (the Green Party office) in Davis 
Square, Somerville, at noon, or look for the ironing board at Government Center 
at 1 pm.

COME TO A GREEN PICNIC AND STRATEGY SESSION NEXT SATURDAY

Next Saturday, July 13, the Mystic River Greens are hosting a Green Party 
picnic and strategy session for all Eastern Mass Greens at Menotomy Rocks Park 
in Arlington. Everyone should bring a dish of food, and we’ll eat, play some 
games, and then break into small groups to get to know each other and discuss 
issues important to the Greens, the current campaigns, and future campaigns. 
The day will begin at 2 p.m. with the picnic, and should wrap up by 6 p.m.

The goal of the day is to build a sense of community among Eastern Mass Greens 
and to develop a strategy, or set of strategies, for moving ahead together. 
Please plan to attend.

AUGUST CAMPAIGNING WORKSHOP IS FILLING UP—RESERVE YOUR SPOT

Last week, we sent out a message about the August 9-11 campaigning workshop, 
and we got a number of immediate responses. We have around 10 spots left, so if 
you are interested in attending, please sign up now by calling 617-628-2922.

We are bringing in Karen Kubby, an experienced campaigner and teacher with the 
Independent Progressive Politics Network, to lead an exciting three-day 
workshop on how to run a campaign. Individuals generally pay up to $50 for 
Karen’s workshop, but we are picking up much of the cost. If you are interested 
in taking on a volunteer role with any of the current campaigns, if you want to 
learn more about 3rd party campaigning, or if you are interested in being a 
candidate or campaign worker in 2003, 2004, and beyond, do not miss this 
opportunity!

WHAT: A workshop for candidates and campaigners

WHERE: Undecided. Will be in the Greater Boston area. If you are from outside 
of Greater Boston, we will find housing for you for the weekend.

WHEN: August 9-11. The workshop begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 9, takes 
place throughout the day on Saturday, and ends on Sunday at noon.
