JAMES O’KEEFE FOR STATE TREASURER CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you today with both good news and bad news. First: the bad
news. My campaign for State Treasurer did not qualify for Clean Elections
funds. Unfortunately, we fell about 300 valid contributions short of the Clean
Elections threshold of 3,000.

I want to thank every single person who has contributed to my campaign and who
has volunteered for our Clean Elections effort. We have all grown as activists
and organizers, and have learned lessons that will help us throughout the rest
of the campaign, and in Green Party campaigns in upcoming years.

Now: the good news. Now that the nominating signature and the Clean Elections
drives are over, my campaign is gearing up for the good part—actual
campaigning!! I am fully committed to running a grassroots campaign, and to
using my candidacy to build the Green Party and support progressive community
initiatives throughout the state. My campaign is currently planning an
extensive door-to-door campaign, as well as a series of exciting campaign
events.

I look forward to meeting many of you in my upcoming travels, and I welcome
your suggestions on the direction and the activities of my campaign.

If you are interested in hosting a coffee or house party to benefit my
campaign, or if you would like me to speak at a meeting, gathering, or other
event, please let me know. I want to generate a statewide discussion about
progressive, third-party politics, and the role of the State Treasurer in
making Massachusetts a more equitable and socially responsible state, and I
need your help!

Thank you once again to all those who have volunteered for my campaign over the
last few months. Please continue to help through Election Day. My campaign is
not over; in fact, it is just getting started!

Sincerely,

James O’Keefe

P.S. Because my campaign did not qualify for Clean Elections, we must continue
our grassroots effort to collect modest contributions from average citizens in
order to keep the campaign running. If you have not yet contributed to my
campaign to the limit of $100, please consider making a first or second
contribution today. If you have friends who might like to contribute, please
encourage them to do so.

Just send in any contributions, along with the name, address and phone number
of each contributor, to James O’Keefe Election Committee; PO Box 441031;
Somerville, MA 02144.

P.P.S. If you live near Somerville, please join us on Wednesday, June 12th, at
6 p.m. at the campaign headquarters to help us prepare a thank-you card mailing
to all our contributors. We’ll provide pizza, drinks, and a good time! We are
located at Suite B2, 240B Elm St., in Davis Square. For directions, please
call our office at 617-628-2922.
