3. GET INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
With less than six weeks left until Election Day, there is much work to be
done! The OfKeefe, Stein, and Lorenzen campaigns have been working in earnest
to spread the word about the Green Party alternative, and we need your help!
No matter where you are in the state, you can help out the statewide campaigns
in several ways. If you call our campaign office at 617-628-2922, therefs a
good chance that we can put you in touch with Greens in your local area. As a
group, there are many ways that you can support the campaigns, including:
1. Give out campaign information at a local event, concert or fair! If there
are any events, concerts or fairs coming up in your community, let us know.
Wefll provide you with campaign literature, buttons, etc., for you to give out
at the event. We may even be able to get a candidate there to meet some
voters! Let us know as soon as possible so we can try to reserve table space
for you.
2. Organize a voter identification effort in your community. This is vital to
the success of the campaigns and to the success of the Mass Green Party.
Coming out of this election, we want to know who our supporters are, and you
can help figure that out! The campaigns can provide you with lists of
registered voters in your precinct, ward or town, and help you organize a voter
i.d. effort. By going door to door and/or calling registered voters, we can
try to determine whofs supportive of our campaigns.
3. Host a house party! Just invite friends, family and neighbors to your
home for an evening meal, a Sunday brunch, or even a pizza party, and wefll
provide the candidate. House parties are an excellent way for the candidates to
connect directly with potential campaign supporters and raise money and
volunteers. And theyfre fun!!
4. Hold a speak-out. This is where you invite individuals and people from
local organizations, from advocacy groups to activist organizations and non-
profits to come and talk with the candidate directly about what their concerns
are. It helps our candidates understand the issues that people are concerned
about, and demonstrates to activists in the community that our candidates care
about their concerns.
If you are interested in getting involved in any of the above ways, or if you
have other ideas, just call us at 617-628-2922, and wefll help you!
We encourage everyone to visit the "Ask James" link on the website and
participate in some discussions. Ask any questions you have concerning
campaign issues, and James will get back to you.

OfKEEFE CAMPAIGN URGES MA DELEGATION TO VOTE FOR PEACE AND
AGAINST INVASION OF IRAQ
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our nation is on the verge of launching a war against Iraq. The James OfKeefe
for State Treasurer is calling on our congressional delegation to vote against
Bushfs proposal for a virtually limitless supply of resources to be used
against Iraq. Following is the letter the OfKeefe campaign is sending to our
congressional delegation.
September 26, 2002
To the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation:
Reports in the press and the position statements of prominent
members of the Bush Administration found on the Project for the
New American Century web site (www.newamericancentury.org), convince us that
the actions of that administration are undermining activism towards future
world peace.
Rather than allow the military strength of the United States to support
the peace efforts of the United Nations, the Bush Administration has:
rejected or failed to ratify the international treaties designed to
prevent war and bring criminal leaders like Saddam Hussein before the World
Court
violated its own commitments to free trade by selective protectionism
acted to weaken peaceful regional alliances such as the European Union.
asserted that it will act to prevent any state or alliance of
states from threatening through free competition its economic
superiority
declared that it will take any military action it sees
necessary to maintain supremacy in all areas of interest
sought to justify this policy by asserting the cultural and
political superiority of the values of American society.
We believe that most Americans do not seek world domination. Thus we
ask that the Massachusetts congressional delegation, all members of
the Democratic Party, to expose the Bush party agenda for world dominion and
the suppression of dissent within our country. Let us not thwart the desire of
other nations to find ways of prospering with greater social equality and less
damage to the earth than is our way. Put a stop to Unilateralism, doctrines of
American Exceptionalism, and other
expressions of Manifest Destiny. These can only lead to devastating
wars and destructive hatreds. The rhetoric of the bully has no place in
international affairs. Despite terrorist attacks, despite the failures
of our government to protect the lives and the welfare of the American
people, we remain strong. Let us learn to walk softly.
We expect the Democratic Party to offer us an alternative to Bushfs
imperialism in the coming election. Any compromise with imperialist
agendas will abet them. The ideology of the Republican Party leaves no
space for a bipartisan foreign policy.

5. PROTEST JILL STEINfS EXCLUSION FROM GUBERNATORIAL DEBATE TUESDAY!
------------------------------------------------------------------------

debate to which only 2 of the 5 candidates appearing on the Nov 5 ballot have
been invited. We are going to need to have a demonstration at least ten times
as big as last Tuesdayfs in Springfield. Please start identifying people you
can turn out NOW, and check in with the Stein campaign (617-623-4733,

be leaving from Boston on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Buses will also be
leaving from Northampton and Amherst. Call John Pepi at 413-268-9276 or email
him at jpepi at admi.umass.edu for details. Please make arrangements to get out
of work a little early if you need to.

Tell them we want "Real, Open, Fair debates," not the sham debates that
we're getting with just the two major parties represented. Let us know
